Since their formation in 2013, FANGE, from Brittany have continued to refine their intense and atypical sound. With roots rooted in sludge, their first albums, like Purge (2016) and Punir (2019), showcased a deafening mix of death metal guitars, noisy textures, and gaunt vocals. Since then, the band has moved to drum machines and emphasized its noise/industrial influences, as evidenced by Pudeur, Poigne, and Pantocrator (all three released during the pandemic), redefining their own codes of abrasive music. This evolution is guided by a desire for constant reinvention, where crushing walls of sound blend with icy, desolate atmospheres—a mature vision reflected in the acclaimed Privation (2023) and Perdition (2024).
