Sang Froid
Nantes, winter 2019.
In the thick fog of the old port city, three musicians from the local scene (RLHT, The Veil) founded Sang Froid. A name like a promise of contained tension, of frozen beauty. Under the guidance of Benoît Roux (Alcest, Anorexia Nervosa), their compositions took shape: incantatory hymns where solitude, spleen, and melancholy intertwine.
Through their songs, the trio pays tribute to this rainy, grey city, to the wind that bites to the bone, to the too-cold façades of forgotten docks. One can hear the ethereal echoes of Dead Can Dance or Cocteau Twins, as well as the dark fervor of The Sisters of Mercy and Depeche Mode.
A music like fog: dense, fragile, haunted, sometimes pierced by the sudden flare of emotion and the rage to live.
