It was the end of 2018 when the Elusive Sound label released the Monolith EP. For the first time, the four musicians of BRUIT ≤ spoke through compositions that transcended the boundaries of musical genres, and which allowed them to hit the road for around twenty concerts across France and Belgium.
After returning to the studio, the French band released their first album "The machine is burning and now everyone knows it could happen again" in April 2021. They joined the Pelagic Records roster that year and, thanks to an excellent reception, the quartet's first album propelled them onto the stage of the most prestigious European festivals (Roadburn, Arctangent, Amplifest, Colossal Weekend, L'homme sauvage, Dunk, Damnation, Levitation France, Post in Paris...), across 50 dates throughout 2022. The group then acquired solid concert experience by hitting the road with monuments like Amenra or EZ3kiel, and carved out a reputation as an essential live band.
At the beginning of the following year, the EP Apologie du temps perdu was released. It is an ambient record that puts contemplation in the spotlight and concludes a chapter in the band's history, before the project is put on hold by its members who go on a world tour as the backing band for the legendary group M83. With this significant experience in mind, they return to the studio in 2024 to record their second album: The Age of Ephemerality. The quartet escapes the hustle and bustle of the road and retreats to the high altitudes of the Pyrenees to write five new tracks which will then be recorded in an old church in their hometown of Toulouse.
Scheduled for release on April 25th, the album explores new horizons while remaining faithful to the quartet's sonic roots. The band's convictions have remained strong over the years, and The Age of Ephemerality will be no exception to the rest of their discography: the album will not be available on major streaming platforms monopolized by social predators.
