Released in 2019, "Punir" will have served as the first turning point in the long discography of the Bretons of FANGE. In addition to the addition of a bass bringing a new depth to their sound, this second album marks their first collaboration with sound engineer Cyrille Gachet as well as their latest with a flesh and blood drummers, before their move to drum machines.
On "Punir", FANGE has broadened its sonic spectrum, beefing up the sludge and d-beat of their debut with a lot of death metal riffs, while increasingly integrating more noise and industrial elements. A record already affirming the sonic approach and genre-shifting aesthetics that would characterize their subsequent releases.
